With that in mind, the peppermill billingham, the second spot we picked to try out was The Peppermill Bistro in Billingham! In fact, the last time I went will have been when I was a teenager and I was dressed in neon to get my skates on at the ice rink.
I went for the beer battered cod goujons, fresh lemon and tartare sauce for starter. The batter was really light and tasty, and the cod was the same — it just tasted really fresh. Considering the steak was really thick, it was cooked to perfection and just the way I like it — which never normally happens! The king prawn scampi had a really crunchy batter and the prawns were big and juicy, the chips were top notch and the garlic mayo deserves a good shout out too. So, when I saw that they had vegan desserts I was over the moon. For the vegan menu you need to pre-order, so I did just that and went for the sticky toffee pudding. But, I ended up having to cancel the night I originally booked and I felt terrible because I had ordered the dessert, I said that I would come and collect it haha but they were really understanding and told me not to worry.

The Peppermill Bistro is a family-run independent bistro located on Station Road in Billingham which opened its doors in John, the owner, and chef, grew up in Billingham and has worked in various different hotels, restaurants, and pubs, including 20 years, most of these as Head Chef, at the well-established Norton Hall. Together they have created a welcoming bistro that is passionate about creating a dining experience that lasts long in the memory and will leave you coming back for more. Conscious about supporting other local businesses, they use local produce as much as possible, with suppliers in Billingham, Middlesbrough, Sedgefield, and Whitby. This results in the freshest ingredients possible and allows The Peppermill Bistro to create wonderful seasonal menus, along with specials that change weekly depending on what local produce is available. They beautifully cook their dishes from scratch, even the bread and ice cream are homemade, this attention to detail really shines through and ensures customers always leave with a smile on their face. Vegans will also be happy to hear there is an entirely vegan menu that is available to pre-order, so be sure to ask them about it! Likewise, if you have any other dietary requirements, just let them know and they will happily accommodate! Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
