The True Night's Edge is a Hardmode sword that is a stronger version of the Night's Edgedoing more damage and firing a projectile when swung.

The Night's Edge is a post- Skeletron broadsword. When swung, the Night's Edge emits fire-like purple particles, similarly to the swords used in crafting it, but the effect is more subtle and does not last as long. It is notable for having the highest base damage of a sword available before entering Hardmode , although on the Desktop version , Console version , and Mobile version , it is tied with the Volcano at 40 base damage. On the Desktop version , Console version , and Mobile version , a purple aura comes off of the Night's Edge when swung, following the swing and increasing the range at which it can hit enemies. The aura also swings around a second time on its own, further increasing range and even covering behind the player. This aura can break pots through walls, but cannot damage enemies there.

The Muramasa can be found in the locked golden chests of the Dungeon , which can be found to the far right or the far left in the player's world. The side with the Snow Biome always has the Dungeon. In order to get access to the Dungeon, the player will need to beat Skeletron , or the Dungeon Guardian will come up to instantly kill the player.

It is a Hard Mode item which fires a spinning, bright, glowing, green sword projectile that hits the first enemy or wall it touches, and shatters in bright green sparks, akin to Cursed Flames.
