In a year that has repeatedly shown us the dark side of the free-to-play ecosystem, I can't think of a better time for BattleBit Remastered to appear on Steam and instantly steal the spotlight. It's weird to jump straight into a brand new shooter that looks like it's already 10 "seasons" deep in Not that free-to-play doesn't have its advantages—it's remarkable how many good games are available for anyone to install and enjoy these days for free.
