Naruto Shippuden

Naruto: Shippuden is an anime television series mainly adapted from Part II of Masashi Kishimoto 's original Naruto manga series, with exactly episodes. It is set two and a half years after the original series in the Naruto universe, following the teenage ninja Naruto Uzumaki and his allies. Adult Swim 's Toonami programming block began airing the anime from the beginning on January 5, in an uncut format. In four regions, episodes from the series have been released on DVD and Blu-ray by single volumes and box sets. In Japan, twenty six sets of volumes have been released based on which arc it represents.

Any long-running anime series is bound to have filler episodes, but Naruto Shippuden has a whole lot of them. Some anime series are lean to the point where they leave fans hungry for more. Others are jammed with so much filler that fans struggle to keep going to the next actual plot-relevant episode. Naruto Shippuden falls into the latter category, with fans regarding about half of the series as filler. Though filler is generally regarded as a negative, there can still be good filler episodes. Some expand upon the established story or give extra spotlight to characters that are otherwise left in the background.
