An ancient proving grounds, created by the gods to secure entry to Anor Londo. Tip for pendulum traps: Adjust your camera so that you have an almost bird's eye view of what's going on; this is especially useful for the last pendulum trap with the narrow path. Sens fortress
This section focuses on the area known as Sen's Fortress. First things first - you're going to need to know exactly where Sen's Fortress actually is. Chances are you've been there before, but were thwarted by the large gates barring entry. These large gates are created just across a bridge next to the Bonfire in the Undead Parish. Now that you've rung both Bells of Awakening the gates will have opened, giving you entry into Sen's Fortress. Cross the bridge whenever you're ready and go up the stairs. Beware as you pass through the gate - there's a pressure pad on the floor that'll activate, sending three damaging arrows headed straight for you. In this entrance foyer are also two new enemies - Serpent Soldiers. To fight these guys you'll have to use quick hits and time your attacks well. If possible, try to go for backstabs.

To reach it, the player must immediately turn left upon crossing the mist barrier and spotting the first giant. After climbing the first flight of stairs, the player must run directly across to the second flight of stairs. After climbing the second flight of stairs, the player will be led to an open courtyard with scorch marks etched onto the ground along with a burnt corpse.

This dark castle is guarded by monstrous reptilian guards, boulder-throwing giants and numerous traps such as massive swinging axes, boulders and pitfalls. It serves as the gateway to Anor Londo. Though initially locked upon your first encounter, Siegmeyer of Catarina waits on the steps of the gates, in hope of entering the fortress as well.
