Of all the numerous installments in Nintendo's enormously popular The Legend of Zelda franchise, one of the strangest and darkest of them all is 's Majora's Mask , originally released for the Nintendo Serving as the direct sequel to 's universally acclaimed Ocarina of Time , the game opens with the young Link riding Epona through the Lost Woods before being attacked by a Skull Kid wearing the sinister Majora's Mask. Pursuing the Skull Kid, Link is cursed by the miscreant's magic before acclimating to Termina, a land filled with familiar faces and three days away from being annihilated by a plunging moon. Beloved for its tone, story and depth, one popular fan theory posits that Link is actually dead for the majority of the game and his adventures in Termina are just an out-of-body experience before his soul passes to the afterlife. The theory suggests that Link was actually killed in his initial confrontation with the Skull Kid in the Lost Woods.

Below is a listing of all 24 Masks located within Majora's Mask. The transformation masks are listed first, followed by when they are found in the Majora's Mask Walkthrough. The Boss Remains are listed at the bottom of the page. Link is transformed into Deku Link after he lands in Termina. By retrieving the Ocarina of Time from Skull Kid and speaking with the Happy Mask Salesman , he learns the Song of Healing and transforms the curse into the Deku Mask, allowing him to transform back and forth at will. It is implied to contain the soul of the Deku Butler's Son. Wear it to assume Deku Link form. This allows Link to interact with other Deku Scrubs , stun enemies, hop on water, use flowers to fly and well as shoot bubbles. Deku Link is weak to fire, and while he can hop across water for 5 skips, after that he will drown. Wear it to assume Goron Link form. This allows Link to pretend to be Darmani to other Gorons , move heavy objects, roll at speed, Goron Pound , walk on lava and punch with fists of fire.

Link is known as the legendary Hylian hero called the Hero of Time, but really, he's a mostly normal, good-hearted, fun-loving 11 year old kid. Or, well Although OoT is far more classic and well-loved a game than MM, after Amanda dropped OoT Link, she decided to do something different with him if she was going to bring him back. But, he is, in fact, different. In body and consciousness, it is the same Link, but when Link first started his journey, he was a happy little guy with not a care in the world except that he had a bit of a disagreement with Ganondorf. Skull Kid promptly steals the Ocarina of Time, and when Link confronts him, in an action-packed sequence, Skull Kid jumps on Epona and attempts an escape. Also, before I continue, in this game, Link has further trained and honed his combat skills since his first adventure, and now does awesome somersaults when he jumps. Link follows the Skull Kid into a large stump, falls down a hole, somehow survives the fall, and is again confronted by the Skull Kid. But this time, instead of running away, Skull Kid does a creepy-ass head rattle and turns Link into a Deku Scrub before leaving with the purple fairy, revealed to be named Tael, and abandoning the yellow fairy with Link. The yellow fairy introduces herself as Tatl, and explains that Tael is her brother heh, get it? Tatl and Tael?
