We were looking for a place to stay to hike and enjoy the fall colours. We got a good rate as it was midweek. The one thing that put a little damper for us was the unfriendly receptionist. She barely smiled and was not very welcoming. However, we had a lovely waitress at our table for dinner. The room was parking lot view. We felt as the hotel was practically emp We felt as the hotel was practically empty maybe they would have put us literally on the other side of the floor to have a lake view that would have encouraged us to come back again in the busy season. The people were very friendly and helpful. Our visit was short but we will go back for a longer stay in the fall. There are major stores for groceries, gas stations on main streets,all big box stores if you are spending summers there at a cottage, has all the necessities of big city but at a friendly slower pace.
