Heywood wakefield screws, there are clues that can help determine if what you have is a genuine Heywood-Wakefield item.
Quite often we hear from people who have vintage Heywood-Wakefield items that are missing the feet. Heywood-Wakefield used this one design for a wide variety of items, and we are pleased to announce that these can now be purchased directly from us. The original foot was attached with two screws that fit through pre-drilled channels in the foot. Consequently, any vintage piece that is missing the foot will have two holes already drilled into the bottom of the cabinet. Also, the thread in the original holes can be striped or otherwise loosened; after all, these holes are drilled directly into the wooden underside of the item, and wood can wear and stretch. To compensate for this, we ship our replacement foot with 12 screws, a size larger than the original 10 that was used in the past. This will guarantee a tight fit once the screws are inserted.
