The brand states that because of the stainless steel design, you can use metal tools — though, as with most cookware, sharp items aren't recommended since they could scratch the surface. HexClad describes its nonstick coating as a "Japanese coating infused with diamond dust. It has been linked to some health concerns , and there's growing concern for its prevalence in nature. That said, by and large, nonstick cookware is safe if you use it as instructed.
