The Heart of Azeroth was ultimately used as a conduit in which the powers of the Forge of Origination , empowered by the Engine of Nalak'sha , was fired upon N'Zoth , destroying its body and Ny'alotha. The Heart of Azeroth does not confer any of its unique Azerite-related bonuses while in the Shadowlands ; it functions as a normal necklace, granting only its stats. However, its full functionality is still intact while outside of the Shadowlands.
