B Kuk Sool Hapkido books black and red textbooks. Known as the Hapkido Bible, outstanding history section, bigger pictures than in Tedeschi's book, slightly less comprehensive. The techniques are Hapkido.

When it comes to learning Hapkido , one of the best things that you can do to supplement your learning is also read and study books. Although these days many people like to learn by watching videos which is also completely fine , reading books and studying the material is also massively beneficial. By doing this, you can progress much faster compared to merely training on your own. By reading, this means you can learn whilst on the go. Especially useful for those with a busy lifestyle, this method allows you to get the most out of your spare time when you cannot physically train. This book is ideal for Hapkido practitioners who are interested in learning knife defense. Published by the Global Hapkido Association, this not only teaches knife defense but also offense. However, this is specifically poised towards knives and small blinds. As far as practical self defense methods are concerned, this book is very handy in the modern environment.

Very basic and almost entirely based on kicking. This is the first introductory text to accurately portray Hapkido in its entirety. Generally available at the big bookstores, I've provided links to Amazon above. The hand techniques shown are excellent Hapkido, GM Han and his instructors were and are very skilled, but the techniques are usually not explained well. This is Hapkido series Y. The techniques are Hapkido. Lots of wasted tape, showing each technique about 10 times without adding anything. AHA Wolmershauser series - cheap quality tapes from the 80's. Kimm at HanMuDo. Han's curriculum as shown is kicking heavy but dominated by the standard front, roundhouse, side kicks everyone does; without doing much of the really practical kicks specific to Hapkido. More than 9, photographs introduce over 2, martial techniques, including strikes, kicks, blocks, avoiding movements, holds, joint locks, chokes, throws, falls, tumbling, ground fighting, and weapons.
The most accurate history out there. Han's curriculum as shown is kicking heavy but dominated by the standard front, roundhouse, side kicks everyone does; without doing much of the really practical kicks specific to Hapkido. Biased history but otherwise excellent. Shows the same technique done vs different attacks and multiple variants of technique. A BIG hardback. I don't particularly like the sequencing of what's taught at what levels and they're not comprehensive enough, but overall the series is worth getting and having. Basically even when good techniques they are done in a way that will only work with a cooperative partner in the dojang. Clearly written and expertly photographed by the author of the landmark Hapkido: Traditions, Philosophy, Technique, this unique book is essential reading for anyone seeking a concise, honest, and accurate overview of Hapkido's history, philosophy, and techniques. Hard to see everything that's going on, but excellent HKD shown. Very comprehensive, very well done, the best book on the market. Poor quality pictures, early efforts nigh impossible to learn from unless you already know it. Marc Tedeschi. He is the author of twelve works, including a unique series of general martial arts books that provide an in-depth look at the core concepts and techniques shared by a broad range of martial arts. Not quite an F, not totally worthless but misleading, there is just so much more to Hapkido than what this has.
This situation is familiar to me. Let's discuss.
I sympathise with you.
