Sincethe husband and wife team, Katherine and Tim McManus of Elora have keep their glass blowing studio all fired up! Since that time, these two have played in high regard on the Canadian glass scene. These artisans continue to inspire, glass blowing elora, innovate, educate and mentor glass lovers both nationally and internationally. Their journey has been impressive.

If you are over 18 and would like to apply for one of our student programs, or if you would like more information, please e-mail Katherine - tk blownawayglassstudio. The first in the One Hot Date Series. Do them in order as listed. A two hour private workshop for two! During the two hours you will make a paperweight and a drinking glass in the colours of your choice. The second in the One Hot Date series. The fourth in the One Hot Date Series. You will each make another glass to match your set you have started and then a plate. The fifth date in the One Hot Date Series. You will start with a drinking glass each as your warm up pieces and then make your own pendant lights!

After months of lockdown, we were able to take advantage of our "One Hot Date" booking. We had a fabulous time with Tim, he took great care in fully explaining each step and gave us just enough guidance so we created something we were proud of but didn't feel like he did it for us. It's a truly unique experience, and although I was a bit anxious at the beginning felt completely comfortable while trying something new! Afterward, Tim gave us lots of great meal suggestions and even parking tips so that we could enjoy the day trip to Elora. When we came back to pick up our finished pieces, he remembered much of our conversation from the week before which made us feel valued as a client. If you are looking for an experience that is unlike anything you've ever done, it is totally worth it! My husband purchased "one hot date" for Christmas - what an amazing experience!
