Drought conditions throughout the province prompted Alberta Fires to open its fire season two weeks early and now the those dry conditions coupled with winds around Grande Prairie have further sparked an advisory. The fire advisory notes that the Grande Prairie Forest Area fire permits are still valid but new ones will be reviewed based on their own merits and only for essential burning.
