I splashed out recently and bought a dress from Daughters of India, who I saw advertised on an FB site. I absolutely love the dress, and love the ethos of the company.

Daughters of India makes the cutest flowy dresses that look perfect for spring and summer so I was really excited to try out the Diya Midi Dress. Daughters of India is a slow fashion brand that ethically makes their garments in Jaipur, India. This ensures that the artisans are not overworked trying to produce an unrealistic quantity of garments for a launch. The facility where they produce the clothing is also Sedex Fair Trade Certified. You can read more about how they empower women in India here! In the end I decided to go with the Diya because of the contrasting yoke pattern. The mix of patterns in the dress and yoke just looks so pretty! Plus, the Diya came in a color that I really loved. The contrasting yoke on the front and back features hand block printed flowers. The dress is lined on the body and has sheer billowy sleeves. Be aware that the V-neckline does dip down really low so you might have to wear a tank underneath. The cotton material is very light and delicate — which makes it really breezy and comfortable! However, I do think you need to be careful with the fabric because it seems like it will snag easily. I would also be careful when washing this dress and only hand wash in cold water and line dry. I think this runs true to size.
