Header image credit: Dominique Wesson. Hulu's A Court of Thorns and Roses TV series is in development, and though casting has not yet begun, book readers are already speculating about who might play Lucien Vanserra. Lucien is a supporting character throughout the Court of Thorns and Roses books, but it doesn't mean his role isn't an important one. Getting the right casting will be important for the series to work. As Tamlin's closest friend but also his subordinate, the two have a somewhat complicated relationship. Before his exile, Lucien was raised as proper royalty and he uses it to his advantage as the emissary of the Spring Court. The flame-haired "Lord of Foxes" is an observer, shrewd and sharp-eyed, noticing things and picking up on information others miss.

Lucien due to his relationship to Jesminda since we don't know what kind of faerie she was and it's quite possible but in the case of Eris i could see his redemption being more of familial love for his granddaughter instead of romantic as well as Cassian saying he's possibly a good male but he's to much of a coward to act on it. Also when Rhys mentioned the firstborn child and Eris said he doesn't know about the firstborn instead of my firstborn now this may be a stretch but its possible Gwyn's mother is Eris' firstborn who i feel he gave up to the priestesses to protect her from Beron since we know what he did to Jesminda and as well as what he does to his family. So to Beron, he'd view his granddaughter as an abomination that needs to be disposed of as well as to keep his bloodline pure so basically some Death Eater shit and i could see Eris trying to become High Lord so that he doesn't need to hide it anymore and so him and possibly his brothers can love who they want without their father in the way. So after months of begging and pleading, my boyfriend finally agreed to read aCoTaR!!!! So he just finished reading the part where we meet Lucien and here's his reaction to major plot points so far:. Feyre shoots the Fae wolf: "oh she should not have done that I don't know if anyone else has noticed but both Elain and Azriel's other love interest are both redheads with connections to Spring, Autumn, and quite possibly Day as well. I personally believe that Gwyn's father is from Day or Dawn or both because she has the ability to glow albeit when she sings. So I feel that we're going to learn more about Elain's seer powers as well as any others she may possess, Azriel's shadowsinger powers, Lucien's day court powers, and Gwyn's power because i feel she may be more powerful than we believe especially since she's descended from multiple courts if my day court theory is true. As well as learning more about their pasts and families. I was trying so damn hard to give him the benefit of the doubt because I liked him in the first book. But no more. He emotionally abused Feyre. But not only that, he emotionally AND physically abused Lucien. Instead of getting Feyre away when he had the chance in the first book, they had sex.
There Tamlin sees him dressed in Illyrian leathers and feels hurt, but in acotar lucien he is wearing them because it is the only thing he had at the time, acotar lucien. He coldly rejects her and is saved by Feyre who uses her daemati abilities to force Ianthe to unshackle him and crush her own hand with a rock repeatedly so that she would not touch anyone without their consent ever again. He is the current emissary to the Night Court. Fearing for her life and the life of her unborn child, as Beron's temper and penchant for violence were well-known to all, the Lady of the Autumn Court attempted to pass her bastard son off as the true son of Beron. Her husband, however, always suspected the truth. Lucien believes himself to be the youngest blooded son of Beron as he was raised as one of the seven sons of the High Lord, and was never told the truth. Lucien grew up in the Autumn Court, but never cared much about his nobility.

Sarah J. The best-selling " romantasy " books are fairly character-driven, but they focus primarily on Feyre and Rhysand — and that's something the ACOTAR adaptation can improve upon. And even when the supporting players are around, they don't always do them justice. For a fantasy series that's ongoing and expansive, this shouldn't be the case. All the ACOTAR characters can use further fleshing out — from the leads' closest friends and family to the villains — and the upcoming TV series feels like the perfect place to deliver on that. When Feyre is brought to live at the Spring Court, Lucien is one of the few people she can count on. While the books offer Feyre's thoughts on everything that unfolds, they rarely dig into Lucien's. While it's not unheard of for someone to side with a friend or family member regardless of bad behavior, there's little doubt that Lucien feels conflicted about his place in everything that happens. It'd be nice to see more of that, even if he's still impossible to root for when the series concludes.

Despite that, Tamlin abused Lucien physically and dumped his belongings away. She was pale, yes. When Tamlin finds out he goes to find her and deceives her by saying that she has broken the Treaty , which states that if a human kills a faerie they must either die or go live in the faerie realms. As the son of a goatherd who rose through the ranks thanks to his charm and cheekiness to become a trusted advisor to the king, Leith provides great background experience for anyone stepping into the role of Tamlin's emissary and right-hand man in A Court of Thorns and Roses. Their gazes locked and held. I drank deeply from my goblet of water before piling food on my plate. A small disc of impact lay in its centre, through the padding, all the way to the wood itself. He said that her own sister, Clythia , had preferred a human's company over hers, referring to Jurian. Nesta Archeron is Feyre and Elain Archeron 's eldest sister.
Lucien may at times be reserved, but that's merely the role he's been forced into, not his natural state of being. Cassian then decides to pay them a visit. Lucien studied it- then my mate's face. In addition, Lucien has many emotional scars as a result of Beron's cruelty and abuse of him, which emboldened his half-brothers to treat him similarly. She made Lucien's mechanical eye after Amarantha tore his eye out. My Account white. Or she would have been. The creature I might one day have become if I had stayed at the Spring Court, if I had remained broken for decades, centuries… until I learned to quietly direct those shards of pain outward, learned to savor the pain of others. And no one dared banish her. Despite myself, I let out a quiet laugh. Lucien was being watched too, but he still at least came to try and help. I think I'll just reread the series.
