The Winged Dragon of Ra is often seen as the strongest among the three Egyptian God Cards, and it's not hard to see why with all the effective support give to have its own standalone Deck! Read on to learn more about the Deck list, combos and potential counters! List of Contents. Compared to the more meta-defining decks, The Winged Dragon of Ra is rather slow in comparison. They do not swarm the field, but rather control it by using effects that help clear the field, and sometimes uses the opponent's own monsters against them as tribute fodder. The titular monsters all share one thing in common: once they are on the field, they command the pace of the game. The original Winged Dragon of Ra ends up having pretty high stats whenever it is summoned, whether through its own effect or by the help of another version of itself. Sphere Mode can end up clearing pesky monsters on the field by turning them into tribute fodder, much like the Kaiju archetype is known for. It keeps itself safe through immunity from attacks and targeted card effects, and it shifts ownership until it can be tributed to bring out the original Winged Dragon of Ra with ATK and DEF. Immortal Phoenix can be considered the emergency button. The opponent cannot activate anything to counter this card's Special Summoning, and it can send a monster to the Graveyard at a cost of LP, without any limits. To help bring out the God card with relative easy while being able to protect yourself, you need to maintain presence on the field. The various Slime monsters are key here.
I'm cheating a bit because Pot of Prosperity definitely isn't a budget card, but it's worth your while to include it in this deck if you have it. Despia Darklord.
Ra and Slifer got their own Structures, but how about some love for Ra? Loukas shows you 3 different builds. Slifer the Sky Dragon and Obelisk the Tormentor certainly have their followings, but the ace of the three is clear. Ra just holds a special place in all of our hearts, doesn't it? Editor's Note: It's true! I've written on Egyptian God decks before - when the Structures came out I wrote some pretty big articles on how to upgrade both Obelisk and Slifer into playable builds - and I'm still surprised at how well the strategies hold up.

The new versions of Ra are serious collector bait, but can an Egyptian God card actually be competitive? It really came out of nowhere to make Rage of Ra a much bigger deal for collectors and old school fans. But can it actually be competitive?
Number Dugares the Timeless revives combo pieces. Timing of Ad Display. Twin Twisters. You can only activate 1 "The True Sun God" per turn. For a Deck focusing on a central Monster, it uses quite a lot of Spell Cards as support. Its Fusion Material Requirements look rather daunting, but with Metal Reflector Slime acting as a cheat code, Egyptian God Slime can be brought out on the field with relative ease. If you control this card that was Special Summoned from the hand: You can target 3 banished monsters with different names; Special Summon 1 of them, then place the rest on the bottom of the Deck in any order.
