While Yamcha was a formidable foe in the original Dragon Ball, over the past several decades, he has grown into a joke in the anime community. What happened to his character between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z that made him become a laughingstock? Yamcha was first introduced in the anime during the Saga of Goku arc in Dragon Ball. However, he ultimately runs away in fear after spotting Bulma, as he has a fear of women.
Yamcha death
Fans have a tendency of piling onto Yamcha for his absolutely pathetic track record in Dragon Ball Z , with his famous death serving as the ultimate symbol of just how weak he really is. But a later fight during the same battle proves that Yamcha's death actually isn't nearly as embarrassing as fans think. The irony is that, moments before dying, Yamcha obviously celebrated an ostensible win against his designated Saibaman a little prematurely. After blasting the creature into a giant crater, the Saibaman jumps onto Yamcha, who was in the middle of a giant taunt, and self-destructs in Dragon Ball Z chapter 21 by Akira Toriyama. The resulting blast kills both Yamcha and the Saibaman , yielding the famous image of Yamcha huddled in the fetal position in his own crater. The circumstances of Yamcha's death aren't really that pathetic based on events in chapter After Yamcha's death, Nappa soon goes on the offensive and targets Tien, effortlessly punching off the human's arm before axe-handling him into the ground. But Nappa's onslaught is cut short when Chiaotzu latches onto his back in the same way as the Saibaman did to Yamcha a few chapters earlier and then self-destructs in the same manner. Of course, the end results are vastly different. Yamcha didn't survive when the Saibaman self-destructed while Nappa walks away essentially unscathed from Chiaotzu's sacrifice. But it's noteworthy that both the human and Saiyan fall prey to the same type of attack. Some might use this as an excuse to poke fun at Nappa since he isn't the brightest of fighters, but he's actually quite a formidable foe. What made him so terrifying was that he obviously wasn't fighting seriously against Piccolo, Krillin, Gohan, and Tien and yet still dominated them.
He tries to talk his way out of it and save face by defeating the robots sicced on him by the women. Future Trunks states that after Bulma and Yamcha broke up, yamcha death, Yamcha found a new girlfriend.

Yamcha's Death Pose is an image exploitable series based on a stillshot of DragonBall Z character Yamcha fallen on the ground after suffering a fatal injury in the battle against Saibaman, a relatively weak villain character. The images depict Yamcha or other anime character lying inside the crater and they are typically used to indicate failure or weakness. In the Saiyan saga of the classic anime series Dragonball Z [7] , the villain character Nappa makes use of an alien species called "Saibamen" to attack the main characters, including Yamcha. After one of the Saibamen attacks Yamcha using a self-destruction technqiue called the "Saibamen Bomb" which ends up killing both of them, Yamcha's corpse is left lying in the familiar pose. Such association of Yamcha and FAIL was established most likely due to the character's feeble strength in comparison to other Saiyan-blooded characters including his friends Goku and his son Gohan. The exploitable image quickly spawned a large volume of parody fanart and illustrations on the Japanese illustrators' community Pixiv [2] , which were soon picked up by a number of Yahoo Blogs. The drawing meme eventually made its way into the English web in , as seen on imageboard hubsites and anime-related forums like Danbooru [3]. Yamcha's death pose was further reiterated in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi [5] , wherein Saibaiman's suicide attack makes its enemy fall to the ground in the identical pose, and in Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans [6] where Yamcha falls defeated in the same pose.
