Xenia emulator
Xenia is an experimental emulator for the Xbox For more information, see the main Xenia wiki, xenia emulator. Interested in supporting the core contributors? Visit Xenia Project on Patreon.
Outside of Microsoft's own backward compatibility on successive consoles, Xenia is the first and only unofficial Xbox emulator that exists. Xenia originally began development in early as a side project by Ben Vanik. For the next three years, an active contributor named Triang3l completely rewrote the GPU implementation with the primary goal of addressing this. Once implemented, it more than doubled performance. For proper handling of the GPU's capabilities, Xenia now requires a specific feature of Direct3D 12 called Rasterizer-Ordered Views, which is limited only to newer cards.

Ever since the release of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S back in late , we've been hearing about emulators that are supported on the two systems. We wouldn't suggest trying these for yourself, but nevertheless it's fascinating to see that these two consoles are becoming emulation powerhouses. The latest Xbox Series X S emulator that's been getting a massive amount of attention lately is something called " Xenia ", which has just launched on Xbox over the past few days. For now, it's very much in an early access state, only working properly with a few games - although one of them is notably the cancelled GoldenEye remaster for the Xbox , as you can see in the MVG video above.
