X rebirth missions

There are two major sets of problems with Egosoft's X Rebirth. Those failings may change with time and patches, but the second and more significant set of problems will not: from conception to execution, X Rebirth consistently misses the mark about what is valuable and interesting in an open-ended space sim. When you finally reach your destination, you can dock and go explore the ship or space station in first-person perspective, which sounds more exciting than it actually is. There's only a handful of stock station layouts, so wherever you go in the galaxy, it feels like you're right back where you started, talking to the same slack-faced drones. There's a even a bizarre layout where you can go buy weapons and goods from vendors who are plainly inside what is supposed to be a prison. X Rebirth just offers the wrong kind of immersion. It's all the petty chores and frustrations of everyday with none of the excitement promised by the sci-fi setting.

This game is actually… uhhh… Elite Citizen! No defence officer means those weapons just sit there and look menacing. You're free to build those stations anywhere but keep an eye on the food. The campaign guides you through the basics of getting a construction ship, putting it in your squad, and selecting a build location. While the pirates may not shoot at you they will not take kindly to your trade ships giving Overwatch any trade business. See the Resources section for my favorite mods. Gifts are quite expensive so this is really just an option for the rich. I do miss watching drones flying overhead when delivering good to a construction ship while I'm on the bridge but it's well worth having this mod. Put -skipintro into the box and OK your way out. Little ships size M or smaller have just a single pilot on board. It's similar to the jump drive the capital ships use however: You can target jump beacons OR jump gates.
