For players looking for crops to grow during Winter, the Seed Maker comes to the rescue. Aside from the wild seeds you get from the Seed Maker, nothing else can grow during that season. This fun little item lets you get seeds out of four particular fruits, which can be used to grow the other forageable produce from that season. Crafting a Seed Maker means making it to Farming Level 9. That seems rough, but it's actually one of the first skills you're likely to get to level 9 and certainly doable in the first year if you focus on crops. The Seed Maker requires 25 wood, 10 coal, and a gold bar. You can buy 5 gold ore from the Blacksmith to make it - you'll need a furnace, to smelt the metals. You do not need 4 as pictured above, because the seeds are ready in just a few minutes. Just a couple of these can put out seeds at a really fast rate. It only takes 10 minutes of game time to make seeds so several real-life seconds.
