I don't know where people get off the fact Shanks is stronger than Kaido. Just bc your haki is stronger doesn't mean your instantly stronger.

At the beginning of the raid, no one expected that Kaido and Big Mom would both be defeated, but the members of the Worst Generation did what they do best and caused major upsets. The two Yonko used to be comrades many years ago, and they fought against each other before the raid began, but they ended up forming an alliance. Most people would say Whitebeard, but personally, I have to go with Kaido. Whitebeard is known as the strongest human while Kaido is the strongest creature. To add onto this, Kaido is an oni which is already stronger than the average human due to oni's being a race of giants while Whitebeard is a human with superhuman strength. Obviously Whitebeard is stronger than the average giant, but Kaido is no average giant. Kaido is a top tier character which puts him up there with Whitebeard's physical strength.

With the Big Mom and Kaido fight in full swing, One Piece 's current Wano arc is the midst of a cataclysmic event after reaching its 1,th chapter milestone. Given that Luffy has plenty of strong fights over the course of his pirate life, though, one might wonder what makes the fight against these two Yonko any different? Well, we could potentially see sweeping changes to this world should Luffy and his allies come out as the victors. The obvious difference between Kaido, Big Mom and Luffy's previous adversaries are that the two larger then life pirates are Yonko. As Emperors of the Sea, these two have ruled over parts of the New World for decades. A Yonko's influence and power are not to be underestimated.

Whitebeard's fruit is just powerful, it doesn't give him extra physical strength at all, so people need to stop saying his devil fruit makes him physically strong. As such, beating him isn't as arduous a task as killing him is. Y'all can debate with me in the comments, but I'm honestly tired of seeing people say Whitebeard is the strongest physical character in the show when you have a literal top tier giant with a mythical zoan fruit in the entire show. Let's see. Kaido might be a bit stronger than Big Mom or the latter is just too stupid but neither of them can one-shot Kid and Killer at the same time. Kaido possesses the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, which is a mythical zoan type devil fruit, and it allows him to transform into a dragon at will. Although he may not be able to defeat him as he is now, in his prime, Garp would certainly prove to be more than a challenge for Kaido. However, during his youth, he was usually arrested on purpose to get access to food in jail, which he easily broke out every time.
