They are owned and run by Mark and Sue West in partnership with Matthew and Alison Ray, and include a team of ten vets and 10 vet nurses between the three clinics. By spreading our resources in this way we are best able to service the needs of the Westernport area. Our team members are constantly undergoing further education in all aspects of veterinary care and are always up to date with the latest information available. Our superb hospital facilities include radiology, endoscopy, ultrasound, full dental facilities, full small animal surgery, anaesthetics, pathology laboratory for blood testing and urine testing including microscopic analysis. We also do house calls for dogs and cats!

Westernport Vet Clinics, located on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, has a vacancy for a part time experienced surgical and reception nurse at our Hastings and Somerville clinic. There is the potential for full time if that suits both parties. We are seeking nurses who are passionate about patient care, with an ability to provide a high level of veterinary nursing service and advice. About Us: Westernport Vet Clinics are a family run, community focused practice with 3 branches in Hastings, Somerville, and Balnarring. We have a varied and busy case load, with a great team of nurses and vets. We pride ourselves on our excellent standard of veterinary care with first class customer service. The Opportunity: The successful candidate will be working at our Hastings clinic in hospital, surgery, and reception on a roster rotation basis. Our practice hours are 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday, Saturday from 8am to 4pm. Excellent pay rates will be offered to the successful candidate. At this point the clinic was only 6 squares in size with a small consulting room, a kennel room shared between dogs and cats and an everything else room. Until there was only one other vet providing veterinary services to the Mornington Peninsula. Andrew also opened a branch clinic in Red Hill that was staffed one hour a day. The vet was on call 24 hours a day. At this point in time the work performed by the clinic included everything apart from racehorse work.

Born and raised in Swan Hill, Matt has been a local for over a decade now and loves the Peninsula life. Matt and his wife Alison are the owners of the Westernport Vet Clinics. Matt has a keen interest in all aspects of veterinary care including orthopaedic surgery and ultrasound. When not working, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, two dogs, surfing or playing tennis. Born and bred locally, Alison brings loads of small animal experience to the team. She worked in Albury for nearly 3 years before travelling and working overseas, then moving back to the area. For over a decade Alison has been a partner in the practice and is now sole owner with her husband Matt. Alison is based mostly at the Somerville Vet Clinic and enjoys cases involving microscopy. When she is not working, she is busy raising three children, looking after backyard chickens and two dogs, Jessie the Kelpie X and Wallace the golden Labrador. Jessica joined us as a new graduate in for two years before heading overseas to explore the world and gain further veterinary experience in other countries.
