Place : Wasabi, China Town, Manchester. Wasabi chinatown manchester friends or alone, this is the place I normally go to when I need a quick sushi fix. But not only this, the times I have visited I have always got my favourite type of sushi readily available on the belt, always been able to sit straight down and start munching, great service, the lot.

Wasabi has three restaurants in Manchester, one in Chinatown, one in the Printworks and one in The Quadrangle. Both the Printworks and the Chinatown venues are much of a muchness when it comes to interior fixtures and fittings; both have a sushi conveyor belt with seating for approximately 20 people, the Printworks venue has a number of booths to seat 4 people, whilst the Chinatown venue has an upstairs seating area with restaurant style tables and chairs. You can order sushi at these areas but they are much more suited for ordering a la carte. For the best sushi experience, you need to be seated at the conveyor belt and enjoy the view of all the delicious dishes passing you by. The Chinatown venue also has a dessert room, serving crepes, sago and snow ice. Set A — 6 plates from the conveyor belt, 1 bowl of miso soup Set B — 3 plates from the conveyor belt, 1 noodle or rice dish from the selection.

You have probably passed by it loads of times without realising if you frequent China Town. It is located upstairs from the Wazuzhi Sushi place on Faulkner Street. The best thing about this place? Their opening hours! From 2pm — pm last orders 9pm Monday, Wednesdays adnd Fridays. Saturdays and Sundays — pm. The interior is quite bright and cheerful with pictures of the desserts along one bright pink wall. I do find the assortment of furniture a bit odd with it largely being stools and tables, then a random sofa at the back. I really like the menu at the Wazuzhi Dessert Room as they serve a varied assortment of Chinese desserts that I grew up on and more. My favourites are the snow ices and the tofu dessert, the latter of which can be served either hot or cold, with original or ginger syrup. I would not recommend the ice cream mochi as they are really small for the price you are paying. What can I say?

Triple Chocolate Torte Even though it is small enough to fit on a sushi plate, it was all you needed for a dessert.

When we tried them, they were brilliant. Share this: Twitter Facebook. Even though it is small enough to fit on a sushi plate, it was all you needed for a dessert. But I have to have it thrown in somehow. It feels creamier than sorbet but much lighter than ice cream. Our waiter did not offer to refill our drinks and it seemed both waiters and waitresses seemed slightly clueless and not very tentative compared to normal. I can guarantee whenever I have this option, I come out the place stuffed. Most of these are highly unusual to a Western palate. I have a serious case of having eyes that are far too big for my belly but I know with Set Menu A, I hit my limit nicely. But on this occasion, that the first time I go to review, many things seemed to slip. If you order green tea snow ice, then you are more likely to get some red bean on the side. Spot on and thumbs up. I took a look around for one particular waiter who every time I come in makes me laugh, offers great bits of knowledge and recommendations and is attentive only when I need it.
