Wartales is an intensive open-world RPG game that lets you take control of a party as they look for wealth and dominion. You can make powerful weapons, capture prisoners, steal items, and trade goods with the right companion. And to do either of the above, you need to assign them a Profession. There are several professions to choose from, with each bringing bonuses to your party, and some are too crucial to live without them. The Scholar profession provides you with runes to study different codices.

Wartales professions

Professions allow players to interact with objects in the world of Wartales that require a specialist's touch, whether it be studying an ancient rune, playing a lute, fishing, or picking the locks off of chests. Certain camp buildings also grant benefits if they are manned by a character who knows what they're doin g, so it's always a good idea to have an expert ready to provide their bespoke services to or on behalf of the warband. Learning professions is simple enough, but it can be a little confusing at first. Knowing which one to get for each of the player's party members is important since it'll let them interact with most of the things in Wartales including some important quest objectives on top of earning stat bumps that can help min-max a build. The job that each profession does is self-explanatory , but the extra stats they give and the places where players can actually get them need a bit of clarity. Here's a list of all available professions, including their sources and other bonuses, in the launch version of Wartales :. Take note that there are multiple possible places where a character can learn a profession. Scholar and Miner, for example, can also be learned inside ruins. Players don't need to visit a school or a mentor to gain a profession—characters can learn them on the spot regardless of their class. There are five ranks for every profession, and each one grants more passive stat bonuses and extra perks, such as additional crafting recipes and the ability to create higher-tier gear. A character will gain Profession XP every time they perform a relevant action such as cutting wood, picking open locks, or studying curious items. Players can freely swap the professions of their party members by opening their character windows and clicking on the Profession icon to the right of their name. This does not cost any Krowns or Influence, but it will reset the XP of that character's professions, which means they'll have to start over at the beginning. This is especially useful when first building up a party since recruits who appear inside taverns usually come with predisposed class and profession combos.

Shiro Games' Wartales is an open-world medieval RPG that sees players take control over a party of companions and lead them on quests with a turn-based combat system as well as crafting and trading, and a variety of mini-games. In addition to their primary fighting classes, companions can also be assigned a 'Profession' which gives them work to do outside of combat, often providing unique abilities and boons which will help the party overall in different ways. While it is always best to have a diverse set of skills among companions , there are certainly some professions that are more beneficial than others and should be assigned as soon as possible. One of the less important professions players can assign to a companion is that of the Woodcutter. Wood is a relatively abundant resource in the game world and can be found in a variety of locations. A companion assigned to the woodcutter profession will be able to participate in the woodcutting mini-game which is available in some woodcutter camps or other encampments throughout the five provinces.

Turn-based strategy RPG Wartales is a complex game of managing a party of companions as they explore a medieval land in search of adventure. But if you prefer to have a smaller party of companions , it can be hard to cover all the important professions. The good news is, yes, you can have multiple professions on each companion in Wartales, but not at the same time. So, if you are an Experienced Cook and change from Cook to a Miner and then back again, you would still be an Experienced Cook, but you would have to start earning experience for the next level again. This means that if you have mastered a skill, you will lose nothing. I found out that the best time to switch professions is just after gaining a new level to keep experience loss to a minimum.

Much like the woodcutter, the Miner profession will enable players to extract large ores in several locations throughout the world. Once you learn them, you can later sing them in the Inn. Bard is my last profession, mostly for Tombs. Given you find a lock, may as well pick it? Your woodcutting companion will help you earn extra wood and can meet other components while on the job. This profession gives a bonus to Willpower, and at higher levels also to Critical Hit. A Woodcutter will allow you to obtain wood without hunting it down in the forests. It's worth keeping this in mind and saving the game before creating more valuable inventory items. The order you take them partly depends on your starting group composition. Blacksmiths rely on ores, and this is where a Miner companion comes in handy. View mobile website.
