Found the reason was as briefly as I can explain why. The grippers that lock the flob in place were not releasing their hold on the fob, why? The flob had an abrasion that held the gripper in place. Quick and easy solution is to cut a plastic strip to the size it will slid down either side of the flob a credit card will work slide it down either side of the flob and it will push back the gripper.
