The mezcal brings on a warm feeling as the spirit goes smoothly down. The accompanying orange and sal de gusano help bring out the flavors in the different mezcals, emphasizing oaky notes from the barrels it was aged in or the varied levels of agave sweetness. This is the traditional way of enjoying tequila and mezcal that Sanchez, the owner of Viva Tequila, Salem's first tequila-centric bar, hopes to bring to folks.
