Both truck have Speartech harness and are show trucks so don't really want to go back and run new wires and back pin into the pcm. I asked on the facebook page and everyone just said wire it in to the pcm.. I have the gen III harness from speedway sitting on the floor next to me. I'm not familiar with the gen IV wiring but it should be the same. If you wanted to gain an added control feature while you are re wiring anyways. The vintage air units all come with a binary pressure switch that trips the compressor if too much or too little pressure is present to save the comp. We are a vintage air dealer and every unit we sell and install is with a trinary pressure switch that adds a fan relay control to its function.

It would be easier to just run the VA as a stand alone unit, but tie the high fan relay if you have both high and low to the trinary switch so that it will turn the fans on when needed.

This post is going to his the basics about Vintage Air wiring with our Infinitybox system. You can download a quick electrical diagram for this system by clicking this link. This is the large-gauge red wire in their harness. It has a circuit breaker in-line to protect the wire from overloads. Per their instructions, they recommend that this red power feed gets connected directly to the battery to minimize any voltage drop. The second connection is for the ignition power for the system.

I don't plan on buying my VA system for awhile after wiring everything, but I do want to go the 3-relay setup with my fans and I'm going to look at my dad's wiring closer to see what the shop did. The time now is PM. Just sayin- The terminals might be clean- but the wire is over 50 years old- and to me doesn't look in that great of shape at the alternator stud.
