I need to buy a printer , but don't have a clue, any recommendations? My computer is an ancient old HP. The trouble with cheap printers is that the inks tend to be astronomically priced. All printers are cheap - it is their loss leader - then they charge a fortune for the inks! I do use compatibles on my Epson - it does not like it and ticks me off every time, but I plough on with them! I wouldn't buy another HP printer.

I bought two Canon Original 62XL ink cartridges from Viking two months ago and tried to install them today The Colour cartridge installed OK but the Black didn't and the printer continually asks me to remove it and reinstall it correctly. Since the Colour was OK am I right to assume that there is nothing I can do to the printer that would help and if so, what can I do to the cartridge that might help?
