Mum visited a few weeks ago and one thing I always get really excited about is planning where to eat. The thing is, mums not hugely adventurous with food and she likes to stick with what she knows. Steaks, burgers and fish and chips.

A flat hot dog? Yes, please! But what is a flat dog? A hot dog split in two on a hamburger bun? We soon learned it is nothing of the kind. A flat dog is a hot dog patty and no, it is not bologna. It is an approximately one-third-inch thick pork and veal patty.

The real deal. A sanctuary for the whole family, great food, great service and great coffee too! Had the Presidents Dog as recommended by the employee and it was great. It did feel like it was missing something though. The onion rings were great as a side but a couple were too crisp. Overall the food was still extremely good. The best , most freshest, tastiest burger I have had in such a long time. The cheesy bacon fries were spot on, with the chips having still the right amount of crunch. The hot dogs are just as up there with the burger. I was down in Melbourne with a couple of friends recently for an event in the area, and this place was so good we ended up going 3 times over the course of the trip.

All with a choice of toppings as adventurous as YOU want to be.

First I have to start off with saying they're the most friendliest people ever I felt like we was eating at grandpa and Grandpa's house they treated my kids like there own will definitely return when ever in town again just because of the friendlynes alone the prices are April I'd give this place 10 stars if I could! Stopped in for lunch passing though on the highway and the folks at Top Dog took real good care of us. Tracy and Marsha are the most down to earth servers and cashiers, with the best senses of humor. This place is real unique with fresh and quality food, classic diner decor, and local art. Excellent food, amazing service, and I hadn't laughed that hard in weeks as I did while talking with Tracy, Marsha, and some other regular customers
