The Tisas gets high marks for being all forged while the Rock Island is cast. Conversely , the Rock Islands get high marks for fit and reliability praised for tolerances held even by gunsmiths and a perfect on a recent You Tube test score.

Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions. I'm not a fan of ATI; in my opinion reliability with them is a crap shoot. You can get a good one and be okay but then again you might get a not so good one and be unhappy. RIA is much more consistent and the customer service is excellent. The one Tisas I handled left me thinking that it would make a solid base gun for a build. Fit and finish was very good.

There is an immediately obvious difference in quality between the two. I would and have purchase a Rock Island.

I had a small issue with my I also missed the boat on the Dan Wesson A2s, and if I am going to be spending the amount they want for them on the secondary market, might as well go custom, just need a base gun that won't break the bank. Got 2 factory mags, a Promag, and a Wilson. The second was a Cimmaron style that didn't shoot straight at all. It is a A1-FS, parkerized finish. I was pretty happy with the RIA, actually. I've done some 'things' to a couple of them. I have 3 Tisas and they are amazing quality for the money.
