Well, you all certainly got involved, voting for your special place and we got some great ideas as to where to try ourselves as and when time allows. Previously we have sampled his wares at The Spotted Cow at Holbrook and The Marquis on Codnor Denby Lane so hopefully we were in for a scrummy roast dinner on this occasion: no pressure, Chef!! The Beef was perched artfully on a litter of herbed roasties which were bloody lovely, I have to say! A pair of white oval platters housed the vegetables Carrots, Green Cabbage and fine Green Beans , another contained the burnished crust-covered Cauliflower Cheese and a small glass pot held the piggies — not for long though as Mummy and His Nibs snaffled them tout suite! Equally happy were Mummy and I; our beef was beautifully juicy with a superb flavour to it that lingered nicely on the palate. All the veggies were spot-on: not soggy and not raw either, just a nice bit of bite left to them. Every good roast has to have quality gravy with it, ideally one that incorporates the pan juices, and Chef makes a rather fine one; thick and glossy, and served in a separate jug so you can indulge as much or as little as you fancy.

Hours : Spanker Ln, Belper Menu. Fantastic quiz night at this local traditional pub. The staff were wonderful and service excellent. Did not have any food as quiz night. Definitely recommend this friendly and well run establishment. October Stopped in for a couple of drinks while visiting family. Lovely country pub with a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the dogs were welcome too.

Fab food, really excellent value for money. Do you own this Venue? Lovely little pub, great service. We shall not return. Staff were very nice too. Stay organized with a to-do list, packing list, shopping list, any kind of list. Cheryl and Paul want to display the history of the pub, but one mystery remains — the origins of its name. Highly recommended, love it here. Staff were happy and friendly as soon as we walked in. I and a friend booked at the Strutt for 2 nights. Cant wait to return weekly even though I live in Nottingham. It does get really busy so make sure you get early to guarantee a seat. Booked at that!

With no shop or other business in Nether Heage, the couple have launched takeaways and a mini- shop selling essentials such as tea, milk and bread. The service was perfect and the food was delicious. Nearby Pubs See All. Service was attentive and helpful from the start, the interior is beautiful. We were too full to eat a dessert, but we saw other diner's having homemade trifle and other homemade desserts. So tasty and with some unusual sandwich fillings as well as some traditional ones. Outstanding fish and chips and wonderful service by one of the nicest young girls we ever met! At Lovely little pub, great service.
