Aligned with our Swiss passion for Sustainability, Vitality and Craftsmanship, our philosophy is also designed to benefit the environment. By partnering with farms that grow organic produce, we help reduce toxic chemicals that burden the earth. We believe in sustainable agriculture, supporting businesses working hard to minimise impact on the environment while maximising yield. After graduating culinary school, Shingo Komoto developed his career at a teppanyaki restaurant in Cologne, Germany. The Swissotel Nankai Osaka has been opened and operating for nearly 30 years. At the property there is a restaurant called Minami. Minami is a traditional Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. Teppan is the name for a large griddle and yaki means to be cooked over direct heat. Minami encompasses all of the traditional features of a solid teppanyaki restaurant. I did appreciate the small garden outside the window, which made a nice backdrop for the evening. The chef has been working at Minami for 15 years! It was obvious as I watched him effortlessly execute each dish. The first food item that arrived was a delicious jelly with seafood, flowers, and okra. This was an exciting way to start off the evening!
