Quitting your job to become an influencer may be the most talked-about way to live a life of travel, but I hope this interview with Tanja will show that there are other ways to live your dream — whatever that may be! How do you get the opportunity to travel so much? In the beginning, we had to pay our dues and pay to get to different congresses. We would pay our airfare and teach some workshops, and promoters were willing to at least cover our full congress passes and hotel room. After we proved that we were good instructors and brought value to an event, we were hired on a weekly basis from then out. Tanja and Jorge have taught bachata lessons all over the world. Yes, being able to have traveled as much as we have has been our dream come true. Visiting the pyramids and seeing them in all of their glory in real life for some reason stirred up a lot of emotions for me. How has interacting with dancers from different cultures impacted you? I think just being able to interact with people in general, not just dancers, of different cultures has helped shape me into a more understanding human being. I grew up in Germany for the first 8 years of my life, but during a time when being anything but white was still frowned upon even from some of my own family members.
