The game was released on 6 February for Windows and OS X following a successful Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the project. The game takes place in the universe of Failbetter's browser adventure game Fallen London , in which Victorian-era London has been moved beneath the earth's surface to the edge of the Unterzee, a vast underground ocean. On 11 October , the game's first downloadable content Zubmariner was released, which allows players to explore beneath the surface of the "zee". The player takes on the role of an Unterzee steamship captain, whose background and ambitions are customisable. The player can win by achieving their chosen ambition, such as becoming Fallen London's most celebrated explorer or amassing enough wealth to retire. Resources to achieve these ends are acquired by discovering new locations, trading goods across the Unterzee, battling ships and "zee monsters", and completing "storylet" quests.

Equipment is everything that's mounted on a ship that you can take off and replace with something more dangerous. You can't just strap an engine to your deck and expect to get anywhere. Each piece of equipment is designed to fit one specific place on your ship, and nowhere else. There's only room for once piece or equipment in each slot. All ships can have an Engine , a Deck gun, a Bridge lamp, and a piece of Auxiliary equipment. Only larger ships can mount Aft equipment and a Forward weapon. When not fitted to a slot, most equipment is considered Cargo and takes up space in the Hold. You can't find a shiny new engine just floating in the zee! Almost all equipment must be bought in the shops of London. A few specialized pieces can only be found abroad, and certain Officers may have dreams of creating one-of-a kind marvels The Majesty is the only front-mounted pure cannon: others are torpedoes or flensing weapons. The Judgement Resonator does not limit your ability to hide. Game note: This trio of Clay stokers will reduce crew requirements, but also crew capacity, and will slightly increase engine power. They are fitted to an Auxiliary slot.

Done some testing with engines, exact same ship, same cargo amount and crew- only difference is the engine, the more powerful the engine is the LESS you can travel in one fuel unit, the problem is this amount is quite large! This ultra inefficiency does not seem right to me and makes the faster engines worse imo : Edit: Without the sunbox route, I find it's not sustainable. MagicHp Ver perfil Ver mensagens.

When you encounter evil, turn off your lights. The purpose of this guide is primarily to give players, especially new players, a better idea of what ships and engines to upgrade to. An advanced engine with lights won't save you much on terror because you'd still have to rest in the light occasionally plus it burns more fuel. Retrieved 9 April I was using the Caligo prior to beginning testing, and first tried four different combinations with the engine I was using at the time, the Boadicea. It also meant that the actual journey time, fuel spent and supplies spent were slightly higher than had I been on open water. Maybe not. Each engine is faster than the one before it—but they are also more expensive to purchase—and what about the cost of operation—how much more fuel do later engines consume than earlier ones?
