We were able to use our parks permit from Chutes to enter Sturgeon Bay. Apparently a park permit from one provincial park is valid at any of the other provincial parks in Ontario something new we learned on this trip.

The bay is populated with many cottages, none of which are particularly visually interesting and while there is some rocky shoreline that might be considered aesthetically pleasing, there really is very little to look at. The quality of some sites is ok with reasonable privacy and roomy lots, while others may be only separated by a log. They are the most poorly located sites I have ever seen at an Ontario Park. This was a nice way to end our Northern Ontario road trip. So good to live in a province with relatively clean lakes. The park is situated on a sheltered bay within Georgian Bay great for paddlers. On our drive back to Toronto from Thunder Bay, we did quick stops at some parks along the way just for the sake of getting the patches and stickers. The most interesting part of the paddle for me was the area right around the boat launch where there were logs, lily pads and rock outcrops to maneuver and it was kind of fun to be on the lookout for frogs, turtles and dragonflies.
