The —24 snooker season is an ongoing professional snooker season with tournaments played between 26 June and 26 May The World Snooker Tour in the —24 season initially involved professional players, but dropped to players. This includes 65 out of the top 68 players from the prize money rankings after the World Championship Zhao Xintong , Yan Bingtao , and Lu Ning were banned from competition after an independent disciplinary tribunal found them guilty of match-fixing , and are not eligible to compete during the season [4] and 34 of the 35 players who earned a two-year card the previous year Bai Langning was also banned from competition due to his involvement in match-fixing. The next four places went to the top four players on the one-year ranking list who had not already qualified for the tour. A further eight places were assigned through the two Q School events. The finalists from both of the Asia-Oceania Q School events received tour cards.

The invitational Shanghai Masters is next month with the Wuhan Open and the International Championship — both ranking events — in October and November respectively. The World Open will be held early next year from March 11th to 17th in Yushan, which previously staged the competition for four years from Judd Trump triumphed the last time the event happened in , when the then world champion outplayed Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in the final. There will be 24 players in total invited to take part next month, comprising the current top 16 in the world rankings, the next four highest-ranked Chinese cueists, and four young Chinese wildcards. The fifth ranking event of the —24 season , it followed the English Open and preceded the Northern Ireland Open. The inaugural edition of the Wuhan Open , it was the second professional snooker tournament following the invitational Shanghai Masters and the first ranking event held in mainland China since the World Open , due to the impact of the COVID pandemic. It was available from Matchroom Sport in all other territories. Qualifying matches featuring the top two players in the world rankings Ronnie O'Sullivan and Luca Brecel , the two highest ranked Chinese players Ding Junhui and Zhou Yuelong , and four Chinese wildcards were held over to be played in Wuhan. The reigning world champion Brecel withdrew in advance of the tournament's main stage, as did Mark Williams , Graeme Dott , and David Gilbert. Judd Trump won the tournament, defeating Ali Carter 10—7 in the final to secure the 25th ranking title of his career, which put him level with Williams in joint fifth place on the all-time list. Having claimed the English Open title the previous week, Trump won back-to-back ranking events for the fourth time in his career.
