For example, one of the things that SketchUp does by default is making geometry sticky. This basically means that when lines and faces intersect, they stick together. If I move them together, so that their faces are touching, their faces stick together. This means that the end face of the small box merges into the face of the larger box. This is problematic because if you go into the model and try to pull the boxes back apart again, since the faces are merged, the smaller box pulls the face of the larger box with it, as shown in the image below. Have been using Sketchup for a long time to create models of things I want to build in my woodworking workshop. I began making a model of a chest of drawers with a hutch on top. After completing the chest everything was going well I made one side of the Hutch, but was unable to create component from the drawing. All of the components of the lower cabinet that I made first are behaving appropriately. I even tried deleting all of the Hutch parts and starting over.
