Is there by any chance someone who does know if it is possible to generate a file ready to print with support material to STL format. I'm asking this because I want to buy simplify 3D to do this kind of stuff because I believe simplify3D is much more enhanced than Z-suite. I really hope one day Zortrax will recognise it's not such a bad thing to have a 'bridge' to other slicer software. Answer is simple - NO, its not possible and it wont be, ever. We have closed ecosystem from the beginning and as far as I know, we are going to stick to it. Thanks to that, we are able to achieve outstanding plug and play print quality. What I asked at least I tried There are several posts on this forum from users that create support with other software like Meshmixer etc. At least give us an option to add remove or modify supports in z-suite. You know plug and play is good but we sometimes me always need more than this. To be honest, I wont be much helpful with it since I've not worked with Simplify3D ever, but I imagine, exactly like stated above by Z-Renegade , its most likely possible. Since you are not the first user asking about it, I've already reported it to software department, but you should be aware its not up to me, really. You mentioned S3D. You are asking for trouble, any file you generate with support in a 3rd party program and then attempt to print using the Zortrax will not have the proper coding to know the difference between part and support such that any support will be fully bonded to the part and will be difficult to remove and damaging to part surfaces. This is why there are settings for fan control Auto and the fact that the support and part layers are built individually thus allowing cooling where support to part separation is needed.
I will work on it more later to see if there is a setting somewhere that may simplify3d forum causing this trouble. Joel I've got the same issue with V5 being able to only run on one PC at a time.
OK, so I have been having a fit as of late with Simplify3D and printing objects. I slice them, send to the printer, and things start out ok, but then it knocks them loose during the print, so i have to cancel the job. If I slice with Slic3r Prusa Edition, and try, they print out without issue. Anyone know what is going on with Simplify3D? I previously had it working, but had to remove it and reinstall and since then, it is failing like this on everything I've tried to print. I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Simplify3D makes this easy: Just open the process settings and click the checkbox next to Generate Support. When you do this, the software will automatically add supports to the selected model based on the stock settings from your printer profile. Here the support structures are gray. But one of the great features of Simplify3D is that you are able to fully customize your support structures. First, automatic placement.

Bad move since it then crashes the fan into the frame. I've got a few more days to decide to get a refund and I may do it just because of this licensing change. Post by bob » Mon Feb 13, pm Here is the zip Gcode file generated with the new Simplify-3D V5 slicer that has this trouble if any one would like to look at it. Privacy Terms. To be honest, I wont be much helpful with it since I've not worked with Simplify3D ever, but I imagine, exactly like stated above by Z-Renegade , its most likely possible. Tweak this? So I will be updating TH3D and believe Tim will want to see this control board to check it out for what may have failed on it. Another thing I've learned is to simply slow things down to get things working, then gradually speed back up. Takes little more tweaking but the extremely fast slicing makes up for the very few bugs. Hard to discuss elsewhere when all I have is "a guy on the internet said this" Breaking out of that eco system instead of telling what does not work inside it is innovation. Rectilinear infill and slower speeds seem to be the fix. I rechecked the setting in Simplify3D V5 and re-sliced it again and it worked properly this time.
