Simon Gaskill, more commonly known as Simo, was the local grom growing up, riding the waves of Skenes Creek from dusk to dawn. On April 15 last year, Simo became known as the body in the dunes after a teenager made a grim discovery. At the time, the year-old had been camping on the beach, taking a break from living in the surrounding caravan parks. The initial investigations quickly declared the death as not suspicious but those closest to Simo began a probe of their own, determined to find answers. Taking the investigation into their own hands, the father and daughter duo were able to ascertain a timeline of when Simo may have died. That should have been something the police did," Amanda said.
