I need some explanation, maybe this has been talked through over and over again, but I'm very confused with one thing: How come James enters fog world and otherworld when they and the monsters inside were originally a product of Alessa's. Of course I can see, that these rather are dimensions of his own psyche than of Alessa's, but how would James be capable of creating his own fog world and otherworld? Are they not connected to Alessa at all? I don't see the connection to the origin of the strange incidents that happened in Silent Hill. It seems so unconnected, as if this could happen in any other town? Can fog world and otherworld even exist, if for example Alessa was dead? Help me out here, please. Turran-MC 12 years ago 2. The character of Alessa Gillespie is central to Silent Hill and the machinations of the Order, a fanatical religious organization in Silent Hill. Despite Silent Hill being infused with a lot of lore, the majority of it is inferred through the items and memos you find rather than being told outright by expository dialogue. As a result, it can be easy to miss a lot of the subtle details, especially on a first playthrough. Prior to the events of Silent Hill, Dahlia Gillespie, a member of the Order, gave birth to a daughter who she named Alessa. Sadly, Alessa had a difficult childhood, suffering abuse at the hands of her mother, the Order, and her classmates at Midwich Elementary School, who bullied Alessa because of her supernatural abilities. Alessa used her abilities to split her soul in two to stop the resurrection of the God.
She is the dark part of Alessa Gillespie's soul, an embodiment born from her pain and suffering. Though her physical form is that of a 9 year old, her actual age is 30 years old, however, because she shares the same soul as Alessa, she is 39 years old by the events of the first film. Sometime around 10 PM on November 1, , a young girl named Alessa Gillespie was burned alive by a group of religious fanatics who believed her to be a witch due to her possible lack of father and possible psychic powers. The burning went awry, leaving Alessa alive, but with third degree burns over her entire body. After being taken to Brookhaven Hospital , Alessa's rage and hatred spiraled out of control. Her hate caused her to manifest extreme psionic powers, resulting in the flowers next to her hospital bed wilting at an unnatural rate of speed. When a curious nurse looked into Alessa's burn tent, she lashed out, burning the nurse's eyes and making them bleed forever, staining her clothes. Immediately after, Alessa's soul split in two, causing the creation of Dark Alessa. Dark Alessa approached Alessa, and promised her that she could help her to take revenge on the cult. Alessa gave in to her own dark side, and she and Dark Alessa created the Otherworld , an alternate reality infected by Alessa's rage and pain.
