Remember Me? Site Navigation. In my endless search for the right replacement bumper I've decided that the Shrockworks offering seems to fit my requirements and the look I'm going for. I tried the search function and maybe I'm doing it wrong but wanted to see if any of the community here had one and could share their thoughts on them. Thank you in advance. SW has been offering their 5th gen bumper since the early pre-face lift models. They've been around for quite some time and common on 5th gens. I don't have their bumper, but I have a set of their sliders. They're strong and function great. I was a little worried about the strength of their design initially, but they have put those concerns to bed after putting them to use.

The factory 4Runner "Skid Plates" are better than nothing, but not much better. They are flimsy stamped sheet metal and still leave a lot area uncovered. These skid plates will protect the vulnerable low hanging expensive parts on your 4Runner. This is a good investment in peace of mind offroad.

The rocker panel is one of the most vulnerable areas on your 4Runner when driving offroad. ShrockWorks rock sliders are extremely strong.
