Nightmare Bonnie is a major antagonist and one of the nightmare animatronics of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, first appearing in Five Nights at Freddy's 4. He is a nightmarish variant of Bonnie. Nightmare Bonnie also appears in Dittophobia, the second story of Tales from the Pizzaplex 8 B-7 as one of the secondary antagonists. Nightmare Bonnie's real form is nothing more than a costume hanging on a flimsy metallic skeleton being moved by rails, as revealed in Dittophobia. With the use of hallucinogenic gas, Nightmare Bonnie becomes a bluish-purple animatronic rabbit, being more severely damaged than the other nightmare animatronics. Many of his features are exaggerated beyond reality, such as his sharp teeth, big jaw, and claws. Parts of him have a lighter purple shade such as his muzzle, chin, inner ears, and belly. A large hole in his plush suit extends from his upper chest area to his hips, almost completely revealing the endoskeleton beneath. He sports a red bow tie, just like his variants from the previous games. Like most of the other nightmare animatronics, his overall body shape is much different from his original counterpart, being much more squared and flatter. He appears to be somewhat taller than his original counterpart as well. Nightmare Bonnie's arms and legs have multiple smaller rips throughout. Just like the other nightmare animatronics, his hands are exactly the same as Springtrap's in design. His right hand and left foot are completely stripped of its fabric, showing yet more of the endoskeleton frame, like his counterpart from the second game. Both kneecaps are missing as well as the ankles.

Like his fellow animatronics Freddy , Chica and formerly Foxy , Bonnie is a friendly child entertainer during the day housed at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza , but stuffs any human he sees during the night into a suit. Bonnie is an animatronic rabbit, featuring desaturated blue fur alongside light gray sections on his muzzle, belly, and in his ears. His eyes are red, and in his hands is a red and black electric guitar, which he uses during his stage routine. He also has a red bowtie around his neck. Instead of the desaturated blue and gray colors, his fur is now a deep blue, featuring lighter patches of fur on his muzzle, belly, the inside of his ears, and on the bottom of his feet. His eyes are a lighter red than they were before, and on the contrast his guitar is now more saturated, being a bright red with a black neck and head. Unlike before, his endoskeleton is completely obscured. After being rebuilt into his new form, Bonnie acted as a mascot in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza once again.
