Shor's Stone is a small village in eastern Skyrim near the Velothi Mountains. It is a community of miners led by the local blacksmith , Filnjar , in the northeastern portion of The Rift. Redbelly is an iron mine and is the main source of income and work for the community. When first visited, it is closed due to the frostbite spiders infesting it. After doing a miscellaneous quest to kill the spiders, the mine is opened again. Sylgja asks the Dragonborn to deliver her satchel to her father in Darkwater Crossing. After completing the quest, the Dragonborn will be able to marry her. Hafjorg asks the Dragonborn to deliver Filnjar's ore sample back to her. Shor's Stone , named after the Nordic god Shor , is a small ebony mining village in the pass between the Rift and Eastmarch , north-northwest of Riften. Shor's Stone has a watchtower that overlooks the village, aptly named Shor's Watchtower. Shor's Stone Mine, sometimes called Redbelly Mine due to the red mist that fills it, provides ebony, Quicksilver , and iron and serves as the foundation of the local economy. The Fallowstone Vaults served as a museum and mortuary for the Companions as well as the resting place of Wuuthrad , and shrines to the original Five Hundred Companions surrounded the hall. They took control of the mine and Fallowstone Hall in order to steal Wuuthrad and resurrect the giant Sinmur. With the aid of the surviving Companions, the Ebonheart Pact liberated the settlement, but not before Wuuthrad was lost. At some point, the Companions abandoned Fallowstone Hall, and Jorrvaskr in Whiterun once again became their headquarters.

The town is situated at the northern end of The Rift. The main resource of Shor's Stone is Ebony. The entire Rift is surrounded by mountains. One of the only ways to go down the mountain is by going through Shor's Stone. The ebony mining settlement is located on a slope that descends to Eastmarch. Redbelly Mine , which is the mine owned by the town, is located on the eastern side at the base of the mountain. The settlement of Shor's Stone was under Ebonheart Pact control. At the time, The Companions had their headquarters in Fallowstone Hall. They were ordered by the Worm Cult, ruled by Thallik Wormfather , to attack Fallowstone Hall and retrieve the legendary axe, Wuuthrad , which was needed revive the giant Sinmur. The town and the hall were saved by the Vestige.

Now, all of these things have been taken care of.
