Shinso
High School 's General Department from Class 1-C, shinso, although he is awaiting shinso to the hero course for his second year.
The universe of My Hero Academia, though it preaches everyone doing their best and following their dreams, can be quite a cruel place. After all, the League of Villains is essentially a group of unfortunate souls who've been branded as 'unable to be saved' by hero society and cast aside. There are some characters who get judged unfairly because of the nature of their power. Desperately trying to prove everyone wrong, Hitoshi Shinso has been viewed as one of MHA' s villains rather than a budding hero. As a stoic, no-nonsense, and misunderstood character, being Hitoshi Shinso comes with plenty of harsh realities. Hitoshi's Quirk is Brainwashing. He's able to control anyone else's movements as long as he can get them to speak to him.

High School, basically under the General Department before entering the Hero Course next year where he serves as one of Izuku Midoriya 's rivals and the student of Shota Aizawa , whom he is secretly practicing with. Hitoshi is a young man with messy indigo hair that appears in large tufts and a pair of dark purple eyes that are often half-closed with white pupils that have no visible eyelashes and he tends to have a lax expression on his face. Hitoshi is a stoical and straight-forward person who can spark conversation almost instantly despite appearing reserved for the most part. Due to having his Brainwashing Quirk perceived as villainous as well as being feared by his peers because of it, he became was resentful of those who were different than him, saying that Izuku Midoriya was blessed to be born with a "Heroic Quirk". Despite this, Shinso does desire to join the hero course and become a Pro Hero more than anything and prove those who doubted him wrong. While not exactly mean-spirited, Hitoshi can be rather provoking if it means turning the tides in his favor or gaining the chance to activate his Quirk. He referred to Mashirao Ojiro as a "monkey" in order to provoke Midoriya and believed that the former was being foolish when he turned down his chance to advance in the Sports Festival. He smirked when Midoriya began charging at him, and consecutively managed to brainwash him. Likely due to his past treatment of being feared and discriminated, Hitoshi retains a distant attitude among others and states that he has no interest in making friends. However, there are many students who do indeed get along with him and see him as a friend, including Midoriya, Denki Kaminari and Neito Monoma. It is likely that having friends is something very new to him and might still be warming up to the idea.

Brainwashing allows the user to put their target in a state where they are forced to obey all of their commands. In order to activate their power, they need their target to verbally respond to something they say. Brainwashing needs to be willingly activated by Hitoshi, who can otherwise hold normal conversations with other people without brainwashing them. It is shown that he can have more than one person under his control at once, but he can only activate his power on one person at a time, as brainwashing multiple targets simultaneously is beyond Hitoshi's capabilities. He also needs to concentrate on his desired target in order to activate his Quirk. Victims feel dazed while under the effects, like their brain is full of fog, but will remain largely aware of their current state of being brainwashed, despite looking completely spaced out and their eyes turning milky white.

When it comes to My Hero Academia , most of the featured characters are teenagers wishing to become heroes. Some remind us of heroes from other fandoms or even remind us of ourselves as we watch the youthful characters grow and create hope within others. Then, lurking in the shadows of all this hope and motivation between characters is Shinso Hitoshi. As an outcast, the ominous character almost hides in the back of the show's cast, watching and waiting to strike whoever he's targeting with an ability both useful and terrorizing -- his quirk capable of controlling his opponents with nothing but his voice. When using his mind control quirk, Shinso uses his abilities on those who respond to him, but what about inanimate objects such as cars or toys? Unfortunately, Shinso's quirk doesn't affect things that are non-living due to it requiring a response to activate. It's a limitation on a somewhat overpowered quirk or it would be without such a weakness. So, for the time being, Shinso will have to struggle against this particular loophole in his quirk, and it's already affected him by hindering his results in the UA entrance exam composed of robots as enemies. What makes Shinso so interesting is undoubtedly his childhood, despite being hardly talked about in the anime.

Sports Festival Arc U. The Hellish Todoroki Family. Due to having his Brainwashing Quirk perceived as evil throughout his life, Hitoshi has been somewhat feared by those aware of his power and has been discriminated against solely because of the Quirk he was born with. However, after deciding to transfer to the Hero Department of U. The Hellish Todoroki Family, Part 2. Shinso won't be able to activate his Quirk if a person simply doesn't respond to him. The Bonds of One For All. He smirked when Midoriya began charging at him, and consecutively managed to brainwash him. His eyes are purple with white pupils and are thin and somewhat triangular, pointing downward, with no visible eyelashes. Quaotic Quirkstravaganza. Hitoshi's Quirk causes people to judge him unfairly because it seems like a villainous power, rather than something a Pro Hero might have. This hinders his ability to properly use the Capturing Weapon that Eraser Head trained him to use, as Hitoshi lacks the speed to do so.
It seems to me it is excellent idea. I agree with you.
