The Shadow of Yharnam is a boss in Bloodborne. The Shadow of Yharnam consists of three figures shrouded in black robes. As the fight progresses they are revealed to have been infected with the parasitic snakes that infest the woods and undergo gruesome mutations. They share a symbiotic link with the vipers , either transforming their arms to use them as whips or summoning gigantic serpents to devour victims. They are servants of Queen Yharnam , as their name implies. However, unlike other Shadows, they are infested with the parasytic snakes found inside the Forbidden Woods, making them a tough challenge when compared to the other Shadows. Shadow 1 is slower than the others and can be killed first by luring the other two away from it.

During the first phase, the first and second Shadows will be extremely aggressive and chase you around while the third will fire soft-homing fireballs at you that come in waves of three. This puts you in a very evasive position and the obvious course of action is to kill the third ASAP. The third tends to hang back from you compared to the others, leading the first and second away from the third is recommended. Obstacles throughout the arena are useful for stalling the aggressive pair's movement. When the third becomes isolated, charge at him and beat him down, but watch out, because the other two will be on you again quickly. The first is the most aggressive, but that doesn't mean you can ignore the second. The second will occasionally blow on his candle and unleash a flame in a wide arc that tracks you. If you're caught in the middle of it you're likely to die, but if you can get away from it you should survive just fine. After you've done enough damage to kill one of them you don't actually need to kill one of them, but just do enough damage between the three that one would be dead if all that damage was stacked on them , the Shadows reveal their inhuman nature. Their movesets change at this point, becoming rather bizarre; they can stretch their limbs at odd angles. You'll find that this increases their range immensely. If you put too much distance between yourself and the two melee Shadows, they'll hit you with melee attacks with a near unlimited range. There's very little wind up to these attacks, meaning that you've got an incredibly narrow window to dodge. If they land one of these attacks they can take off significant amounts of health. At this point the second will light his scimitar on fire, if you attack him during this animation and manage to stagger him, you can prevent this weapon buff.
Summons three giant snakes that perform long-range strikes or mid-range sweeping bites depending on their distance from you. You can hide behind the massive tombstone and fight the two melee shadow of yharnam while rotating around so that the tombstone constantly prevents the mage from hitting you.
The Shadow of Yharnam is a three person fight, that takes place in the Forbidden Grave , a area found just after the Forbidden Woods. This fight doesn't have terribly tough mechanics, it's more about dealing with multiple targets at the same time. The three enemies all move at different speed, and you can use this to easily split them up. The katana wielder will chase you aggressively, while the other katana wielder who holds a candle walks slower, and the mage is the slowest of all. This means you can easily kite the enemies around, engaging just the one melee enemy, before the others catch up. Due to their fast attack speed, staggering the two melee characters with a blunderbuss is fairly easy.

The large tombstone can be used to separate the bosses and block the fireballs from Shadow 1.

Bloodborne gets a little bit outdoors-y now with a trip through the Forbidden Woods. We start in the Cathedral Ward, however, so head to Grand Cathedral lantern there. The first thing you should do, if you didn't after the battle with Vicar Amelia, is examine the altar to receive the password for an upcoming door. You just need to watch the short cutscene. Backtrack down the big stairs, facing the two souped-up Gravekeepers and then the Axe Reaper and what's likely to be four more Gravekeepers. Finally, deal with the Hound.

These guys gave me absolute hell my first run as a str build. Upon death of Shadows of Yharnam, the Forbidden Grave lamp will spawn. He ended up not even getting a summon off, because he was so low health for me to kill. I'm still a little puzzled as to what "Shadow of Yharnam" means, though. He probably could have taken out all three by himself. Beet Vicer amelia first try same with darkbeast parl but these wankers 3 trys later still not dead. Hey, a lame gank. If you don't kill the one with the candle first go for him this is where you use fire paper. They also have a health bar that depletes. So near the end when it was just two left, I had them both down fairly low, that way when I killed the one guy, the second wouldn't take much to kill. I kind of just find this boss to be unfun and annoying personally. The swordsmen will use their knockdown attacks much more persistently, and will begin performing long-range stabs and launchers. When I beat them they gave me souls. Most fun I had in BB up to that point. The first is the most aggressive, but that doesn't mean you can ignore the second.
Bloodborne players who successfully defeat the Shadow of Yharnam boss will receive the Blood Rapture , which may or may not seem worth it after you've tried this a few times.
If you've cleared your way far enough into the Chalice Dungeons that Shaman Bone Blades are available from the Insight Shop, bring three; if you plan to use the Cannon, be sure to bring some Bone Marrow Ash. They're harder to parry in snake form as they're more likely to stagger you from far away before you can get a visceral. The Fireball user will gain another variation to his fireballs which now he can cast with AoE damage on the ground mid-range. The one with the flaming katana is promptly named "Happy Feet," because he does nothing but sidestep you. I parried the first shadow over and over and so did the second. They will often get stuck in the gravestones against the wall when this happens, allowing the Hunter to stun-lock them and finish off the boss. The next wisest step would be to kill the Sword and Candle wielding Shadow of the two that remain. If the snakes appear near you, stand as close to them as possible and roll sideways to avoid their attacks; otherwise watch them carefully and dash or roll away when they strike. Feature The boss-whisperers of Elden Ring. Forbidden Woods Forbidden Grave. One of the easiest boss-fights in the game if you're adept at parrying. No one's gonna complain because everyone has a boner for Bloodborne?
