He is one of the students in Class 1-A, training to become a Pro Hero. He is voiced by Kiyotaka Furushima in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Christopher Bevins in the English version. Hanta is a young man of rather tall height, Japanese. He has black hair that is spiked downwards along with black eyes. His face is regarded as rather plain with his eyes often opened quite wide as well as often sporting a grin, with his teeth being prominently straight and narrow. His elbows are cylinder-shape dispensers, which allows him to use his Quirk and shoot tape from them. His hero costume consists of a black and white bodysuit with two large yellow shoulder-pads as well as white boots that are lined with yellow. In addition, he adorns a helmet in similar style to his costume with a black visor covering his face. Hanta is a very friendly person and has proven to be one of the more sociable members of Class 1-A. He can be loud and showy at times, often trying to impress his peers with his Tape Quirk. He is often the only person to call his classmates out when they are acting crazy and senseless. He is quite humorous and often takes part in making jokes with his classmates, sometimes acting a little mischievous towards Katsuki for his short temperament and arrogance.

My Hero Academia focuses on great superheroes who can save the day, and while not all heroes actually seek fame and glory, many of them become household names, such as the one and only All Might. Izuku Midoriya is training hard to replace All Might, as is Katsuki Bakugo, but let's not forget about support heroes, like Hanta Sero, who can help keep a team together. Having watched and read My Hero Academia up to the latest content, I could still honestly admit that Hanta Sero is the most forgettable member of Class 1-A. He fades into the background most of the time, just being there and assisting in most scenes. Such is the case with Hanta Sero, who is one of the best examples of what real high school can be like.
