The review sample was already returned to Sennheiser in the meantime, as usual. There is a lot more space between the instruments and the sound is much clearer and detailed. Not to the same extent as the HD but it is right in between the other models. The sound from the HD is very relaxed like a lot of the other Sennheiser headphones and the HD has this warm feeling not warm like the HD of course but it is strongly amp dependent. More on the amplifier pairings later.

The HD are well-made critical listening headphones with a comfortable fit and a durable design. They have an excellent audio reproduction and create a spacious soundstage, which makes them one the better options for critical listening. However, they may sound sharp and piercing on certain tracks and are not really practical for any other use case. They're not designed for outdoor use, and they leak quite a bit which may be distracting to the people around you. The HD are critical listening headphones, not suitable for other use cases except maybe home theater. They deliver an excellent sound but have poor isolation and a slightly bulky and leaky design that's best used at home and in isolation. The HD are made for neutral listening. Their sound quality is excellent and they have a comfortable design you can wear for hours. They have an almost neutral frequency response and create a spacious soundstage, although the slight bum in the mid-range does make them slightly muddy on some tracks. Not designed for commuting.

These audiophile 'phones not only sound great, but they're comfy, too. Their stereo soundstage is more open and spacious than you'll hear from most audiophile headphones, and the bass, midrange, treble balance is very smooth, with no overly exaggerated frequencies. The HD is straight down the middle, a very accurate set of headphones designed for buyers who want to hear sound with nothing added or taken away from the music. Design and features The HD feels like it weighs almost nothing on your head, but in fact it's grams, which is about average for full-size headphones. Its plush microfiber-covered earpads allow for some air circulation, so they are less likely to make your ears sweat than leather pads would. I find the HD well above average in comfort, even after hours of use. Earpad pressure against my ears was light, and that certainly contributed to the HD 's exceptional comfort.

OK, that's the good. They won't be the most fashion-forward headphones, and with their open-back design they aren't supposed to be used outdoors but their simple, premium feel, will satisfy most casual and critical listeners. Go for the crack with good tubes. Was this amp specially made for Sennheiser or what? Reply March 25, dalethorn. Reply October 29, L. I much prefer the treble of the T1 and DT to the T Videos for this product Click to play video. As stated above, are they better than the HD or HD? Thanks for your post Robert. Sound Quality: The sound stage is great on par, if not better than the HDs , they look nice not that you should be wearing these around town as I will discuss later , and the sound is so clear, natural, and detailed that I have done away with my speakers all together. Difference 2. The head cushion is very nice and plush and I feel no hotspots over my head. And these headphones doubled it again over my other headphones. Listening to the HD often reminded me of my HE Were attempts made with the s and if so what happened? Reply August 12, L. The headphone almost disappears and lets the music come through without adding any coloration to the sound. The opinions expressed in this review are my own. Compared to the HDs, these are more comfortable to me by a touch- there were some ear issues I had with my ear touching the membrane on the HDs. Need a better desktop set up, then you can make both the and sing. The HD is very expensive, so some buyers might be put off by the amount of plastic used in the design. Their stereo soundstage is more open and spacious than you'll hear from most audiophile headphones, and the bass, midrange, treble balance is very smooth, with no overly exaggerated frequencies. I am new to this, so even after reading many reviews, I still have not much of a clue as to what would suit me best. These audiophile 'phones not only sound great, but they're comfy, too.
