We have a varied programme, with competitive, close racing opportunities for the confident sailor, a vibrant youth sailing programme, plenty of space and freedom to sail recreationally and a regular programme of RYA training courses to develop your sailing and get you confidently out on the water. We are one of the leading watersports clubs on the East coast, with family-friendly, multi-level dinghy fleets, wind and kite surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking and a busy social club. We also have a model yacht section for ! We are home to multiple National and European class champions and we run organised social sailing activities alongside our friendly but competitive racing programme. With events throughout the season, racing from March to October and social events throughout the year we welcome visiting watersports enthusiasts and their families and encourage regular participation in all club activities. Please check out our calendar. We have now installed a public access defibrillator at its clubhouse. It is particularly important that defibrillators are available close to facilities that children, young people, and the wider community use regularly. We host or more club users and members each week between March and October and are situated on the coastal path and adjacent to the RSPB reserve. The Model Yacht section has been attracting new members throughout the season. From an initial group of four, we have more than doubled in number and also attracted the interest of several more potential members. Affordable access to the sport of sailboat racing has been a primary objective of the SBSC. We have an active inter-club racing program to accommodate all levels of racing skills and inclinations. The Club maintains a boat storage yard in the Santa Barbara harbor area for the benefit of Flag Members. The yard normally contains about 20 boats up to 26 feet in length.

Our beginner level classes covering the Australian Sailing Start Sailing 1 and Start Sailing 2 are offered as a package of 10 weeks on Saturday mornings. By the completion of the course, you will be proficient in boat terminology, able to rig independently, and able to safely sail at all points of sailing in light conditions.
