In Scorched Earth , Sap can be rarely gathered by harvesting the Joshua trees the "furry" ones with any tier of Pickaxe and hatchet, a Chainsaw or a Moschops with harvesting levels into sap to get a larger amount per tree. Joshua trees can be found in the Badlands and High Desert. In Aberration , redwood trees cannot support tree platforms like normal redwoods but they do still support Tree Sap Taps. The Redwood trees are not accessible even though they are in the Sunken Forrest.

Typical wood gather tools can be used or a wyvern can bite the tree and gain sap, without all the wood. Tree Sap can be used as a bait when Fishing. It attracts only Coelacanth.

To reach the tap for harvesting, a survivor must either stand on a dismounted Quetz, a dismounted Brontosaurus, sap in ark, a Tree Platforma Griffina Wyverna ladder, mounted on some walls, or with the grappling hook.

There are many ways to get sap, but it may get confusing, especially if there are multiple ways to acquire it in various locations. Sap can also be used as fishing bait.
