He first appears in the Snowdin forest after the protagonist exits the Ruins. He serves as a supporting character in the Neutral and True Pacifist routes and as the final boss in the Genocide Route. He also takes the role of the Judge. The judge is a fan term that is given to the character s that judge you in the last corridor, and on Genocide will fight you. Sans appears as a short, paunchy skeleton with a wide toothy smirk, large eye sockets.
